Session 1: EV Charging – Global Perspective (speaker: Bjørn Utgård, EVBox, Nederlands)

                            Language: English.

Topics to be covered:

  • Overview of the EV market

  • Overview of AC and DC charging of EVs

  • Charging portfolio of a specific manufacturer

  • Charging locations (residential, workplace, parking stations, destinations, filling stations, distribution of the market between these categories estimates)

  • Regulation and related standards for EV charging in Europe

  • Market penetration and incentive strategy by governmental authorities in Europe

  • Case studies


Session 2:  EV Charging in Israel (Speaker: Ilan Dan – Afcon Electrical Transportation),

                        Language: Hebrew

Topics to be covered:

  • Overview of the Israeli EV market (market expansion forecast, penetration barriers, etc.)

  • Overview of AC charging of EVs in the Israeli arena (power requirements and charging duration, regulatory barriers – Israeli Electricity Law, safety issues in residential locations, safety issues in public parking, applicable standards, governmental strategy and incentive plans, etc.  )

  • Overview of  DC (fast charging) of EVs in the Israeli arena (power requirements and charging duration, regulatory barriers – Israeli Electricity Law, filling stations scenario and key players, applicable standards,  policy of IEC, governmental strategy and incentive plans, etc.  )

  • Design considerations for deciding upon the location of fast charging filling stations (IEC network, commercial energy providers, concentration of traffic, etc.)

  • Market penetration and incentive strategy by governmental authorities

  • Technological developments that may contribute [i.e. batteries (Israeli players – StoreDot), energy storage (Israel players –  Chakratec), wireless charging (Israeli player – ElectReon)  ]

Bjørn Utgård


Bjørn Utgård is the Director of New Markets of EVBox. Since its inception in the Netherlands in 2010, EVBox has delivered more than 60,000 charge points across over 45 countries.
